RING ROAD FROM MOTI BAGH TO PREMBARI PUL, New Delhi

The Inner Ring Road of Delhi with a 60 mt ROW is one of the main circular arterial roads of Delhi which also has the elevated metro track along the full stretch of 17 km of this PWD streetscape design assignment.

There is a Flyover to negotiate every major vehicular junction, located at approximately 1 kilometer. The junctions are also the places where the metro stations have been located - so all junctions along the road are treated as transit nodes for pedestrians to access the metro and the bus- transit facilities. These transit nodes are also designed as pedestrian public plazas, with toilet blocks, safe zebra crossings and pedestrian plazas wherever possible - to celebrate the new 'transit-culture'

The entire street is streamlined for uniform traffic lanes, and the space available on either side is then used to create a interesting experience for the pedestrians and cyclists. Stormwater swales, raingardens, vendor-spots, outdoor seating, plazas. Open gyms play areas, etc all are added all along the street along with dedicated walking and cycling tracks to create a well-lit, pleasant, safe and vibrant experience
